“I’m going to do it.”
Eli looks away from the screen, mind temporarily distracted from zombies and chainsaws. Teddy clears his throat.
“I’m really going to do it, Eli…”
The older boy watches his best friend closely. Then smiles and claps a hand on his shoulder.
“Go for it, man.”
A few seconds later, Teddy chainsaws his character in the face.

“Stop it!” Billy giggles as Teddy nudges him under the booth.
“I’m going to be sick,” Tommy mutters.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” Cassie announces, standing up and laughing. “Makes the food come quicker.
Kate’s only half paying attention to their dinner conversations and focusing instead on how affectionate Teddy’s acting tonight. Her eyes scan the table and meet Eli’s.
He nods.
She smiles.
Cassie was right, as it turns out. The food did come quicker.

Cassie holds Jonas’s hand as they all exit the restaurant. They follow Kate, Eli, and Tommy one way. Teddy and Billy go another.
“Where are you guys going?” she calls.
“They’re going to find a place to get it on, duh,” Tommy interrupts.
Teddy glares. “We’re going for a walk.”
“Oh, that’s what they call it now?”
“Tommy.”
Cassie even shivers at Kate’s tone. The speedster heads her words, minds her glare and zips off.
They all say good night. Billy and Teddy head off the opposite way.
Out of curiosity, the youngest of the team glances over her shoulder at the pair a final time.
Teddy pockets a small navy box in his jeans.

His heart is pounding so hard as the words slip out. All of them not what he had practiced in his room alone. All of them different yet the same as all those cliched romance movies Mrs. Kaplan watches.
All of them will mean nothing if Billy rejects them.
And he could reject them. He could reject him.
Teddy swallows. “Will you-?”

Billy feels his eyes spill over, the grin splitting his face before he can stop himself.
“…Yes.”
He all but launches himself at Teddy and the older boy catches him. Billy’s never laughed through tears like this before. It’s strange but he couldn’t care less right now because-
“Yes!”

Tommy watches from a relatively safe distance and snorts.
Kaplan is crying like a girl. Altman’s grinning like he won the lottery and then some. And they’re both too busy giggling and bumping noses to even get their mouths together.
They fit in an awkward perfection that needs no analysis. Because it just is. And it’s right.
For once, Tommy walks away and lets his brother be.

“Tommy get out of here!”
Like any good older brother, Tommy rushed in to protect his twin’s virtue the next morning.
And it was hilarious.

LOL, what an opening Ame. That’s not cool Teddy DD< Don’t chainsaw him iin the face after he’s been so supportive. If there were a manual for this sort of thing, that would be in the ‘never-do-this’ section.

Poor Teddy, he shouldnt worry. Billy would never reject you bb.

It’s like Tommy has a time limit for how long he can go without annoying them. One night s grace period and then he’s back - guns blazing.
